Founded in 2003, the CB Richard Ellis Foundation is a nonprofit, public benefit corporation that funds CBRE’s philanthropic and community initiatives. In 2006, the Foundation was repurposed to encompass the governance and execution of the CBRE Cares program, CB Richard Ellis’ corporate philanthropic program. The CB Richard Ellis Foundation furthers CB Richard Ellis’ ideals and its commitment to the community and to fostering a culture of giving. From 2006 – 2009, CB Richard Ellis demonstrated this commitment through its partnership with Starlight and two other charities: National Kidney Foundation and the American Cancer Society.
In 2009, CB Richard Ellis launched a new corporate philanthropy program that helps financially support its employees in the causes they feel most strongly about, and more closely aligns its philanthropic programs with its business by focusing on providing shelter and housing to those in need. CB Richard Ellis employees are encouraged to make charitable contributions to organizations of their choice via their local CBRE Cares Committee, and donations are matched by the CB Richard Ellis Foundation up to a specified match amount. As such, CBRE’s support continues to help Starlight ensure that no seriously ill child has to suffer alone.
