Starlight was selected as one of two charity beneficiaries of Variety’s 2010 Power of Youth initiative that encourages top young talent to become involved with philanthropic and humanitarian causes using their positions in popular culture to motivate others to do the same. Celebrity ambassadors include: The Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Corbin Bleu, Emma Roberts, Taylor Lautner, and others.

Power of Youth comprises an invitation-only afternoon in December on the Paramount lot full of fun and festivities, with live performances, interactive games, activities, food, photo opportunities and a special presentation, an online eBay auction, a widget viral campaign and an in-book special advertising section. Variety donated 100 percent of the net proceeds to Starlight and LA’S BEST after school program, which resulted in a generous $100,000 gift which will go a long way toward helping Starlight fulfill its mission.
