Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer Starry With Starlight Child Nick

Why Volunteer?
Volunteers form the core of Starlight Children's Foundation.  Our volunteers contributed more than 8,000 hours of their time during our 2008-09 program year. We invite you to join us in our ongoing mission to "help seriously ill children and their families cope with their pain, fear and isolation through entertainment, education and family activities."

Who can volunteer?
Anyone who is 16 years or older can volunteer once their documents have been processed.

What are the time commitments to volunteer?
That depends on the volunteer opportunities. We have opportunities during Starlight office hours (9am to 5pm), offsite, evening and weekends.

What opportunities are available?

  • Hospital Happenings in-hospital events
  • Great Escapes family activities such as sporting events, family suppers in area restaurants, zoo trips and more
  • Web and print graphic design
  • Data processing
  • Event committees for our annual luncheon, Oscar Night, auction, and more
  • Mailings
  • Warehouse staffing
  • Marketing and public awareness
